Ron Yeager

Officer Yeager has been with The Village of Briarcliff Manor Police Department since 2020. He is one of the department’s motor officers, firearms instructors, car seat technicians, and general topics instructors.

Additionally, Officer Yeager underwent three weeks of training to become a Federal Commercial Vehicle Inspector, including vehicles designed to carry hazardous materials. Officer Yeager previously worked for the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and City of Poughkeepsie Police Department. His training and experience is a valuable asset to the community, police department, and PBA.

Lonnie Faircloth

Lonnie Faircloth is a dedicated law enforcement professional with a distinguished career spanning over two decades. A member of the West Virginia Troopers Association since 1999, Lonnie has consistently demonstrated leadership, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to public service.

Currently serving as the Assistant Detachment Commander in Martinsburg, Lonnie oversees critical operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. In addition to this role, he commands the Explosive Response Team, where his specialized training and strategic leadership are crucial in managing high-stakes situations.

Throughout his tenure, Lonnie has been an active and influential member of the West Virginia Troopers Association. He served as the Troop 2 representative, where he advocated for his peers and worked to address their concerns. His dedication and vision led to his election as Vice President of the association in 2022, a role in which he continues to champion the interests of law enforcement officers across the state.

Lonnie’s career is marked by his commitment to excellence, his passion for service, and his ability to lead in challenging circumstances. He is a trusted figure within the law enforcement community and a respected advocate for his colleagues.

Secretary/Treasurer

John W. Smith, Jr.

JW Smith is a seasoned law enforcement professional with over 31 years of experience in federal and state criminal investigations. He retired as a West Virginia State Police Criminal Investigator after dedicating three decades to public service. Currently, he serves as a Senior Financial Analyst/Investigator for FSA Federal, providing investigative services to the United States Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of West Virginia.

During his distinguished career, JW spent 20 years as a criminal investigator, including approximately 10 years assigned to the United States Attorney’s Office Public Corruption Task Force in the Northern District of West Virginia. In this role, he conducted complex investigations into a wide array of public corruption-related crimes, demonstrating his expertise in uncovering and prosecuting unethical and illegal conduct.

JW has also served as a member of a multi-agency drug task force, where he led investigations targeting criminal organizations involved in the distribution of controlled substances. His extensive experience includes collaboration with numerous federal agencies, including the DEA, FBI, ATF, IRS, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Homeland Security, and the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General. Additionally, he has worked closely with state, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies to investigate and address both federal and state criminal violations.

Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his dedication to justice, his meticulous investigative skills, and his commitment to serving the public with integrity.
